Hearts of Oak striker Don Bortey has told Joy Sports he is likely to make it to South Africa 2010 based on his current form.
The determined striker, who could be joining Saudi Arabian side Al Raed after a successful trial, said he is determined even the more to make it to the tourney.
“I will do what you know that Don Bortey will do [and even] better than that; I believe I’ll join the squad for the World Cup,” he told Joy Sport on Wednesday.
He said his strengths may be latent but he has lot to offer if he is to be included in the squad for Ghana’s second world cup appearance, adding, “I have something in me people don’t know but I alone know that I have something in me.”
“It’s a national team and I have to kill myself for the nation,” he proclaimed and promised to take on the form of Brazilians soccer star Ronaldino.
But the speed star could be snapped up for a fee believed to be in the region of $400,000 for a six-month loan spell.
The Phobian’s forward came on us a substitute against arch rivals Kotoko last weekend when his team won 1-0 at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
