Jordan Ayew made his first appearance in the French top flight on Wednesday night and made it a debut to remember with the goal that started Marseille’s comeback in a 2-1 win away at Lorient.
The youngest son of three-time African Player of the Year, Abedi Pele, got his first call up to Didier Deschamps’ side this season before the former French legend threw the 17-year old on as a substitute for the veteran Fernando Morientes on 63 minutes.
Five minutes later he struck a right footed shot from a Bakari Kone corner to at least guarantee himself another call-up from the junior side for the weekend’s round of games.
Jordan’s appearance for Marseille also continues a rich family tradition that saw his father play and win the European champions league with them before Dede Ayew also wore the Marseille shirt.
And Jordan’s breakthrough into the Marseille team will only go to strengthen Abedi Pele’s belief that his youngest son is the most talented of his three sons.
