A man in his early fifties has been shot dead in Alavanyo in the Volta Region, Monday,
Borntolive Aniewu was shot by an unknown assailants around 4:00pm while cutting bamboo, an eye witness told Myjoyonline.com.
The motive for the shooting has yet to be established even though eye witnesses believe the incident has something to do with the protracted ethnic rivalry between the Alvanyo and the Nkonya
The victim was rushed to the Hospital but died on arrival.
The incident has been confirmed by the Volta Regional Police Commander DCOP Yentumi-Gyinae.
He said the police have begun investigations into the attack.
The bloody rivalry between the Nkonya and Alavanyo people has raged for years. Several people and properties have been destroyed in such attacks.
