The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has told Ashantigold SC to sign up to the upcoming Top 4 tournament or it will throw them out of the competition entirely.Indeed GHALCA has given Ashantigold up to Friday to confirm their participation. On Wednesday, Ashantigold said it needed to see greater transparency over the distribution of the tournament's prize money, and also the specific venues to be used for the tournament. However, the Chairman of GHALCA, J.Y Appiah has told the Daily Graphic that it is not for clubs to dictate the terms of the competition. Kumasi Asante Kotoko is also yet to confirm its participation in the competition.Hearts of Oak, Ashantigold, Kotoko and Heart of Lions qualify to play in the tournament fashioned for the league’s four topmost sides. It has previously also served as preparatory grounds for Ghanaian clubs that qualify to play in Africa, apart from cash rewards for all participating clubs.
