Top scorer of the Ghana Premier League last season, Kofi Owusu has joined Aswan SC in the Egyptian league.
Despite rumours of being linked to many other clubs including African giants, TP Mazembe, Owusu has confirmed his move to Egypt.
The striker joins the North African side from Berekum Chelsea who finished third last season. The deal is reported to be for four years and presents Owusu an opportunity to showcase his talents to a wider audience.
In a recent interview to confirm the move which took about a month to complete, Owusu said; “I’m pleased with the terms of the contract and I have to repay Aswan SC for the kind of confidence they have in me by exhibiting good performance on the field.”
The Berekum Chelsea player scored an impressive 19 goals last season to become the league’s highest scorer. He joins a side that are currently 13th in the league and are desperate for a potent goal scorer.
