Liverpool have been drawn against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League last eight - a match that hands manager Jurgen Klopp a return to the club where he made his name.
The first leg against the Bundesliga's second-placed side is in Germany on April 7 with the return leg at Anfield a week later.
Klopp spent seven years as Dortmund manager between 2008-2015, but departed last summer with a fine record having won Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012 and losing the 2013 Champions League final to Bayern Munich.
Klopp feels Dortmund are the strongest team left in the tournament, admitting that he would rather have landed them in the final in Basel.
"Why should I want the strongest team in the tournament in the next round?," he said after Liverpool's win over Manchester United in the last 16.
"I'm not so silly. But if we go there then we try to win.
Liverpool will hope for a better outcome in the first leg than fellow Premier League side Tottenham, who lost 3-0 at Signal Iduna Park before going 2-1 in London for a 5-1 aggregate defeat.
But they will be bouyed by their 3-1 aggregate success against United that keeps them on course to win the old UEFA Cup competition for a fourth time having lifted it in 1973, 1976 and 2001.
In the pick of the other ties in the last eight, Athletic Bilbao meet Sevilla in all-Spanish duel.
