Police are investigating the shooting of a 13-year-old to death by his 10-year-old friend at Likpe Kukrantumi in the Volta Region.
Hohoe Divisional Commander, ACP Joseph Antwi-Gyewu, told Joy News the gun fired by the 10-year-old boy belongs to the father of the deceased boy.
He said the two boys – said be good friends – had just closed from school and were watching television. But while watching the television, the 13-year-old boy came out of the room to look for a mango that had fallen from a tree.
Police say the 10-year-old boy suddenly stopped watching the television, came out and pointed a locally manufactured gun belonging to the deceased father and pulled the trigger.
The 13-year-old boy died shortly after.
“The deceased father has also been arrested because he should have not hid the gun in the room,” ACP Antwi-Gyewu said.
