Deputy Attorney-General, Ebo Barton-Oduro has said his outfit is through with its due diligence on the STX Housing project. The official signing ceremony for the project was cancelled at the last minute because the government said there were some legal issues that needed to be resolved. The first phase of the project which has seen quite some controversy involves the construction of 30 thousand housing units to accommodate personnel of the security forces. The Deputy A-G told Joy Business the hitherto technical issues have all been cleared. He said it was not up to the Works and Housing Ministry to start the process that will see the housing units constructed. Attempts to reach the Works and Housing Minister, Alban Sumana Bagbin for the current status of the project have been unsuccessful. Deputy Works and Housing Minister Dr. Hannah Bissiw is reported by the Daily Graphic to have denied suggestions that a cargo vessel had docked in the country with cargo meant for the project, saying neither her ministry nor the government is aware of the arrival of the vessel.
