A group calling itself concerned members of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Ledzokuku constituency in Accra says it will defy a police order to demonstrate against senior party executives on Monday.
The group claims it has mobilized over 1500 sympathizers for the demonstration and accuses leading national executives of the party including NPP National Chairman, Peter Mac Manu and the National Organizer Lord Commey of incompetence and dictatorship in their handling of internal grievances.
The group claims that the two men have refused a request to elect local executives for the Ledzokuku constituency although it was recommended in December last year.
The Teshie Police have asked the group to postpone the demonstration citing recent disturbances in the area over the Ga chieftaincy dispute. But the group's spokesperson, Ben Sowah told Joy News’ Evans Mensah, they will not back down.
Mr Lord Commey told Joy News it is an internal matter and would be dealt with as such.
