The former First Lady and founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is pushing for reforms in the parliamentary system that will best ensure that divergent views are respected.
She has pointed out that it is wrong for a President to have a majority in parliament because it allows the governing party to bulldoze its way through parliament.
According to Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings 'if you have a parliament that has different views and you don't have a majority...it means that I should tap from different views to come to a consensus"
She disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Francis Abban, on JoyNews/MultiTV news analysis programme, PULSE on June 27.
Below is a video of the interview.
