Auto Parts Ltd, an authorised importer of Nissan cars and spare parts has honoured three of its technicians with the 2016 Nissan Service Technician Excellence Award (NISTEC).
The NISTEC Award was instituted by Nissan as part of its power 88 strategy to reward hard working technicians in its dealerships around the world.
The keenly contested competition is usually in two parts; the theory section where competing technicians would have to answer multiple questions on vehicle mechanical parts, electrical and air-condition systems among others and the practical aspects, where competing technicians would have to diagnose and repair vehicle faults within very strict timelines. At the end of the competition, trophies and cash prices are awarded to only three of the most outstanding technicians.
The highest award which included a trophy and an undisclosed cash prize went to Clifford Mankatah.
The second highest award of cash prize was given to Theophilus Mintah and the last prize went to Daniel Mensah.
The Group General Manager responsible for Aftersales, Mr Elie Badr commended all eighteen technicians who took part in the competition and said such annual service drills and the regular Nissan training exposed the Nissan technicians to new technologies and also helped them upgrade their skills to offer top notch services to its customers.
