The National Democratic Congress Parliamentary candidate for the Dome Kwabenya constituency has donated food items to the Muslim community in the constituency.
The donation, done annually, is part of Nurudeen Mohammed's contribution towards the Muslim community in the constituency.
The items donated included some 40 bags of jasmine perfume rice, 20 cartons of cooking oil, 10 bags of sugar and 100 polymats to Imams of all 17 mosques within the GA East district of the Greater Accra region as well as to some Christians.
At a short ceremony to present the items at the Dome central mosque on Thursday, the aspiring Nurudeen Mohammed called on all the imams to pray for peace as the nation prepares for the elections in November.

He promised to serve the interest of all religious groups when given the opportunity to serve as Member of Parliament.
The NDC candidate in the company of both current and former executives of the NDC in Dome Kwabenya constituency also took the opportunity to implore the youth not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to foment trouble in the upcoming elections.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Moslems, the chairman of the council of chiefs within the GA East district thanked the NDC candidate for his kind gesture and unfettered support to the Moslem community in the district.
The chiefs and the imams led a special prayer for the aspiring MP, asking for God's blessing as he contests in the upcoming elections
The leader of the imams Alhaji Suleiman Yunus was hopeful the very tenet of Islam which truthfulness incorruptibility and honesty and the fear of Allah and the Quran would guide him in his work when elected as the Member of Parliament.
