The Hajj Committee is certain Ghana's first flight from Tamale International Airport to Madina in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will come off as planned.

Three scheduled flights are expected to take off from Tamale barring any unforeseeable circumstances.

The Administrative Secretary of the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG), Alhaji Mohammed Osman Manaf, who was in Tamale last Saturday for a working visit, expressed satisfaction on the work done so far at the Airport in Tamale.

He was part of a delegation that visited some chiefs, Imams and opinion leaders in Tamale to officially remind them of the much-anticipated Hajj 2016 flight schedules from Tamale.

"Visits to some facilities at the Airport upon arrival from Accra provided us with a high sense of optimism about a possible smooth take off," Alhaji Manaf said.

The Hajj Committee under the leadership of Alhaji Abdul Rauf Tanko Ibrahim urged all would-be pilgrims who are to fly from the Tamale Airport to act with tact.

Alhaji Tanko advised the pilgrims embarking on this year’s Hajj to draw from the social, political, economic and religious benefits.

He urged stakeholders in the Hajj operations in Ghana to keep together and help eschew negative things that would rock their operations.
