An ultra-modern children park is set to be constructed by the Rotary club, Ho to serve as a playground for children in the Volta region and beyond.

The President of the Rotary Club in Ho, Rev Dr Cyril Fayose disclosed this during the presidential ball and fund raising dinner of the club held in Ho, over the weekend.

According to the President, the designated space for such activities in Ho has become a den of drug addicts and robbers thus the club intends to partner the Municipal Assembly and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to equip the Ho Children’s park

“We are inviting all of you to join us provide a safe environment for the wholesome growth and development of our children through your spiritual, moral and financial support,” Rev Fayose appealed.

Rotary Club Ho according to the President, is endowed with committed and dedicated members who have defiantly executed some marvelous humanitarian service projects in the past.

He also lauded the great strides the club has chalked in the recent past especially in the last three years.

The Managing Director of the Ghana Commercial Bank Ltd, Ernest Mawuli Agbesi, who was the guest speaker for the occasion in his speech, said the test driven education mandates often do not emphasise children’s emotional and social needs.

According to him, this limits the development of unique talents and fulfillment of individual lives and also deprives society of practical, problem solving opportunities for creativity.

Mr Agbesi indicated that childhood is a holistic process different for each individual child, emphasizing the need for alternatives, hands-on learning environments to march their varied learning styles.

Mr Agbesi however called on stakeholders to join hands with the Rotary Club to serve humanity through service to the community.
