Residents of Takla, Hodzo and Kpanoe Traditional areas in the Volta Region have vowed not to partake in the upcoming elections if the bad roads in the area are not fixed.
Clad in red and wielding placards, the about two hundred residents took to the streets on Wednesday to register their frustrations.
The residents have accused government of sidelining them in developmental project.

The demonstration comes on the heels of a march earlier this week by NDC supporters thanking the President for various developmental projects in the area.
According to the residents who protested on Wednesday, a journey which could averagely take 15 minutes now takes about an hour due to the deplorable state of roads in the area.

“We are asking government to as a matter of urgency fix the roads. We have complained on several occasions. We have been neglected in Ho,” one resident told Joy News’ Ivy Setordjie.
They presented a petition to the Municipal Chief Executive for Ho, Fafa Adinyira who assured them she will forward their petition to President John Mahama. She promised them the roads will be constructed.
