Pastor Kwasi Antoh, Nsoatre District Pastor, Deeper Life Bible Church in the Sunyani West District of Brong-Ahafo Region at the weekend asked Christians not to seek earthly comforts but spiritual passions to obtain blessings from God.
Preaching a Christmas sermon at a retreat at the Regional Camp Ground of the Church at Ayakomaso, near Nsoatre, Pastor Antoh said salvation must be the main priority of every Christian.
The four-day retreat is on the theme: “receiving power from the present hour”, and being attended by more than 3,000 members drawn from the various districts of the church in the region.
Pastor Antoh emphasized that earthly pleasures were all vanity and that sin hindered the spiritual and total wellbeing of every Christian.
He urged Christians to refrain from sexual promiscuity, alcoholism and drug abuse as well as petty backbiting but rather show compassion and support to the needy in society.
“It is our responsibility to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ to our neigbours so that the world will see that we are the representatives of Christ on the earth,” Pastor Antoh exhorted.
The District Pastor noted that progress, healing and freedom could be achieved if Christians obey the commandments of God asked Christians to abstain from all forms of behaviour that would bring God’s anger on them.
Pastor Antoh urged Christians to assist each other especially in the area of prayer to succeed in their Christian pilgrimage.
