Three persons are in the grip of the. Kaneshie Police for allegedly causing the death of a 50-year-old watchman during a robbery last Thursday. The suspects are James Allasanab Ajangbewu, 31; Prosper Ocloo, 45, and Rev. Anthony Tubulu, 54, a minister of the Gospel who allegedly bought the stolen goods. The robbery occurred at the warehouse of Unimax Limited, a plastic manufacturing company at the South Industrial Area in Accra. James and Prosper were said to have conspired with three employees of the company who are currently at large, tied the watchman's hands and feet and covered his head with a plastic bag before locking him up in the company's security cubicle. They then broke into the company's warehouse and stole 650 bags of granules, the substance used in manufacturing plastic products. Confirming the incident to the Daily Graphic, the Kaneshie Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Michael Kportufe Avadetsi, said on the day of the incident, his office received information that the security man of a plastic manufacturing company at the South Industrial Area, near the Graphic Road, had been murdered. He said when an investigative team got to the scene, it found the security man dead in his office, with his hands and feet tied, while a plastic bag covered his head. He said the team narrowed its investigations down to companies in the country that produced plastics but did not import their raw materials. "Acting on that information, we went to Phytos Company Limited, located at Sakaman, which produces sachet water and retrieved about 459 bags of the stolen product found in its warehouse," he stated. He said the Manager of the company, Rev. Anthony Tubulu, was subsequently arrested and he led the police to arrest James and Prosper. Supt Avadetsi said when Prosper was arrested; 45 bags of the stolen goods were found in his house at Tabora Race Course, a suburb of Accra. He said upon interrogation, James mentioned three employees of the company, whose names were given as Bob, Kwaku and Seidu, who are now on the run, as his accomplices. According to Supt Avadetsi, a day before the incident, the second security guard at Unimax, Issah Pusiga, 45, who is also behind bars, had asked permission from his employers to be away for a while.
