One year after Daddy Lumba’s passing, his family has opened his final resting place to public viewing for the first time.

The private mausoleum, located within his East Legon residence in Accra, was unveiled during a remembrance ceremony held to mark the first anniversary of the highlife legend’s death.

The opening of the mausoleum confirms reports that the musician was buried inside his East Legon home, a detail that had been widely speculated since his passing.

The black tomb, decorated with photographs of Daddy Lumba, wreaths and personal tributes, sits within the compound of the house that became his final resting place.

Surrounded by some of his awards, plaques and works from his celebrated music career, the space reflects the legacy of an artiste whose influence stretched across generations.

Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, died on July 26, 2025, at The Bank Hospital in Accra at age 60 after a brief illness.

The highlife icon enjoyed a career spanning nearly four decades, releasing more than 30 albums and producing several songs that remain popular among music lovers.

His first anniversary has seen family, friends and fans reflect on his contribution to Ghanaian music and the lasting impact of his work.
