The remains of the late Chairman of the Board of Electricity Company of Ghana and former Member of Parliament for Anlo, Engineer Squadron Leader Clend Sowu (Rtd) will be laid to rest today.
The leading member of the ruling National Democratic Congress died early Saturday, 4 December 2010 at the age of 78.
Although family sources say he had not been well for some time, he was not bed ridden.
The late squadron leader Sowu was last publicly seen participating in a Presidential Dinner as part of the Millennium Excellence Awards at the Flagstaff House, a day before his death.
Before his demise, he reportedly requested that his remains be cremated.
Accordingly, this morning, after being laid in state and funeral Service held at the Garrison Methodist Presbyterian Church at Burma Camp in Accra, the cremation will take place at the Osu cemetery.
A funeral reception will later be held at the air force officers Mess in Burma camp.
Final funreal rites will be held at his hometown, Tegbi in the Ketu District of the Volta Region over the weekend.
All friends and sympathizers are invited to attend.
