A Muslim youth group is demanding the dissolution of the current Hajj Committee. The group calling itself the Muslim Youth for Change is also suggesting that the National Chief Imam take over the organization of the holy pilgrimage.Spokesperson for the Group Sheik Salifu Ali tells Joy News they will stage series of demonstrations until government washes its hands off the organization of the Hajj.He alleged letterheads belonging to the office of the National Chief Imam have been abused by the committee over the period and demanded the dissolution of the committee. He warned the group will embark on demonstration if the committee does not heed to their grievances. But the Public Relations Officer for the Hajj Committee Alhaji Halidu Haruna has rubbished their demands.“They should just take their time and go into the issues very well so that they will not be misled by greedy individuals who thought that they have taken the hajj as an opportunity to be transporting unacceptable substances into Saudi Arabia,” he rebutted. He described the allegations by the group as frivolous and without basis.Source: Joy News/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
