On Saturday 5th March 2011, ASEMPA 94.7FM, in partnership with MULTI TV and affiliates in the Multimedia Group will bring the El-Wak sports stadium to life with this year’s edition of Asempa Fitness and Sports Festival.
Asempa FM is collaborating with various vibrant Keep-fit clubs in Accra and Tema, the supporters unions of the various league clubs (foreign & local), sports enthusiasts and the general public for this fun day event estimated to attract about 10,000 people.
The event will kick off at 8am and run till 6pm with a brass band endurance walk by the various keep-fit club from the Freedom & Justice Park at the Kwame Nkrumah Cirlce to the El-Wak stadium. Other activities for the day will include Gala matches for the various Keep-fit clubs, 50-meter dash and relays, fun athletics, tug-of-war, sack races, ampe, weight lifting, volley and basket ball and spoon and lime races.
As part of the activities, there will be various screening exercises by health professionals who will also provide counseling and education on health issues.
Other highlights of the day will be a live showing of the premiership match of the day on a Mobile Viewing Unit for fans of the English Premier League.
The Objective for the event is to promote fitness as part of our daily lives and also encourage stress-free lifestyles among Ghanaians.
