The Copyright Office has asked the police in the Brong Ahafo region to release broadcast equipment it seized from three radio stations in Sunyani.
An anti-piracy task force led by a popular music producer stormed three radio stations in Sunyani at the weekend to seize the equipment.
They accused the stations of pirating their works without recourse to the copyright law.
Principal State Attorney at the Copyright Office, Yaa Attafuah told Joy News investigations will however continue on the basis of other available evidence.
She said the manner in which the exercise was conducted could be wrong “but people have the right to protect their work.”
Meanwhile Joy News has learnt that the Communications Minister will be meeting executives of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association today on the impasse.
