Hundreds of sympathizers on Tuesday thronged the family house of Awurakua Smith, one of the children killed in last Thursday's tragic motor accident in Takoradi, to mourn with the family at a burial ceremony.
The victim's teachers and pupils from the Egyirba International School, who were dressed in black and red attires, joined other mourners to sorrowfully sing dirges at the burial ground.
The Reverend Tony Panyin of the Holy Fire Revival Ministry International, who officiated at the burial service, urged the parents of the deceased to take heart since God knew the reason why such a tragic incident happened.
He urged everybody present at the burial to lead righteous lives at all times because no one knew when they would die.
The father of the deceased, Mr Johnson Smith, is the current head coach of Berekum Arsenals, one of the premier division league clubs based in the Brong Ahafo Region.
On January 13 this year, at about 1500 hours, an articulated truck with registration number AS 1140N ignored signals from a traffic warden at a zebra crossing at Kwesimintsim, a suburb of Takoradi, and ran over school children, killing two kids and a woman in the process.
Information gathered by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) indicated that Pious Donkoh, the other child who died in the accident, was buried on Wednesday, January 19, 2011.
