The elected assembly member for Sefwi-Elluibo Electoral Area in the Western Region, Osei Kwaku has been held in prison custody on orders of the Bibiani Circuit Court for allegedly defiling a 13-year old primary six school girl.He denied the offence and would re-appear on Monday, February 3.
Police Chief Inspector Lucky Gogolomi told the court presided over by Mr Justice Emmanuel Ankamah that the victim and the father live at Sefwi-Elluibo.
The accused is also a farmer in the same community and was recently elected by the people there to represent them in the Juaboso District Assembly.
The Prosecution said in July, last year, the accused lured the girl into his room and sexually assaulted her. This resulted in a pregnancy and when the victim was asked whose baby she was carrying, she mentioned Osei.
