The Bibiani Police have arrested 29-year-old unemployed Abdul Mumuni Sulemana for attempting to sell a teenager for GH¢ 40,000.
Police Superintendent Francis Enorh, Bibiani District Police Commander, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that his arrest followed a tip-off.
They received information that Sulemana had travelled from Sefwi-Afum to Sefwi-Bekwai with his victim, Mohammed Masood to look for a potential buyer.
The Police Commander said at Bibiani the suspect contacted one Issaka Awal, who feigned interest and alerted the Police after they had settled on the price of GH¢ 40,000.
It was arranged that they met at the Prime Choice Hotel for the money to be paid.
Police Superintendent Enorh said the suspect was arrested when he arrived at the hotel with the victim at the appointed time to collect the money.
He said Sulemana would be put before court as soon as they completed their investigations.Source: GNA
