A Koforidua Circuit Court has sentenced one Abraham Narh to death by hanging for murdering one Stephen Tetteh.
The convict who pleaded not guilty was found guilty by the unanimous decision of the jury.
A Principal State Attorney, Mrs Emily Addo-Kyereh told the court presided over by Mr G.S Suurbareh that on September 25, 2008, Narh stole the gun of the deceased.
She said when the deceased went to the convict to retrieve his gun Narh asked Tetteh to team up with him to form a robbery gang.
Mrs Addo-Kyereh said when the deceased refused the request Narh threatened to kill him, compelling Tetteh to report the matter to the chief of the community who advised him to contact the police.
She said, at dawn the following day, the deceased was shot dead in his room and Narh who was the only suspect bolted, but was arrested by the police through the support of the youth of Akyeremanteng with a gun and eight live cartridges.
