A 49-year old police officer in Legon barracks has committed suicide.
The officer, Inspector Paul Kweku Owusu was found hanging on a mango tree in a plantation near the Staff village in Legon.
He is reported to have left home Thursday night to the Tesano police station where he has been transferred to, a fortnight ago.
It is unclear what could have led to his death.
The wife, Madam Susanna Owusu is shocked her husband would end his life after some problems she had decided to help him solve.
“I was very shocked when I heard my husband has committed suicide. He told me he was going to work and he didn’t tell me he was going to die,” she lamented to Joy News' Anna Agyapong.
But his son, Kweku Owusu Antwi is disappointed his father, ordained as a pastor, would commit suicide.
Meanwhile police have begun investigations into the incident.
