A timely intervention by relatives saved a nine-year-old girl who attempted suicide by hanging herself in Bortianor in Accra.
She was found hanging on a coconut tree near her home.
The girl was reported to have complained that she was not happy living with a relative, and has been calling on the mother to relocate her.
According to an eyewitness, Solomon Tetteh, she hanged on the tree almost lifeless when rescuers arrived.
She is however recuperating at a hospital in Accra.
