Sample tests results by the Adabraka Polyclinic on the birthday attendants who were rushed to the Clinic with diarrhea conditions indicate that the patients might have been chemically poisoned.Authorities at the Polyclinic say they suspected normal diarrhea or food poisoning when the patients were rushed to the clinic on Monday but after the tests, it has come out that there was nothing like food poison or diarrhea in their stools.About 12 people were rushed to the Adabraka Polyclinic for allegedly eating food containing poison at their grandfather‘s 70th birthday at Adabraka in Accra resulting in the death of one person.Unconfirmed reports say thirty others suffered running tummies and are receiving treatments from other health facilities within the metropolis.The Disease Control Officer of Osu Klotey Sub-Metro of the Ghana Health Service at the Adabraka Polyclinic, Lord Kpabitey told Asempa News’ Kwaku Antwi-Otoo, that the early results were from the samples of those who took first aid or self medication when they started experiencing the diarrhea. He however said their results may not be accurate due to the first aid.Mr. Kpabitey added that they took samples of a man and a woman to the Reference Laboratory of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital but there was no germ or bacterial of food poison or diarrhea.This he stated gives room for them to suspect chemical poison.When asked whether the Hospital would conduct further chemical tests on the patients to establish the actual cause of their illness, Mr. Kpabitey told Asempa News that they are waiting for the results of those who did not resort to any form of self medication to determine whether they are going to do further tests or not.Story by Kwaku Antwi-Otoo/Asempa FM/Ghana
