The Regulatory Officer of the Food and Drugs Board (FDB), Mr. Issaka Collison Coffie has called on the public to eschew the habit of buying unauthorized drugs from unknown sources and vehicles.
He said such products usually pose great danger to human health and those who purchase them do so at their own risk.
In an interview with Asempa News, Mr. Coffie explained that persons or organizations that manufacture such products do not meet requirements of the food regulatory Act, and that made their products illegal and unsafe for consumption.
He advised members of the public to contact licensed chemical and drug stores for their drugs.
Mr. Coffie appealed to the media to assist the FDB to create publicawareness of the harmful effects of unauthorized products and urged the public to report any persons found engaging in the sale of such products to the police.
