The Volta Region minister Dr Archibald Letsa thanked the assembly members for their support for the president's nominee and urged them to cooperate and work with him for the development of the district.

"Thank you for making the president proud by your overwhelming support for his nominee," he said.
The Member of Parliament for the area Alexander Gabby Hotordzi also appealed to the president through the minister to fast track the water distribution to other parts of the district in order to improve the wellbeing of the people.

In his acceptance speech, the newly confirmed DCE promised to work hand in hand with the MP for the area despite their political difference and also make sure that more development projects are brought to the district.
"I will work with my MP and everyone for development despite our different political affiliations," Mr Zornyara said.
Central Tongu is the first to successfully confirm a DCE in the Volta Region after the list of president's nominees came out two weeks ago.
