President Akufo-Addo's District Chief Executive nominee for North Dayi, Kudjo Edmund Attah was unanimously endorsed by assembly members Monday.

All 33 assembly members who participated in the voting exercise voted yes to endorse the nominee as the new District Chief Executive.

Edmund Atta, 34, who was the Asugyaman District Information Officer in the Eastern Region, before his nomination noted that "a 100 percent approval comes as a challenge to him" to ensure he delivers on the expectations of the assembly members.

He said that pivotal among his objectives were providing adequate educational infrastructure to enhance ameliorate standard of education in the district and improving agriculture. He, therefore, appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate with him to develop the district. 

The Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Maxwell Blagogee, expressed optimism that Mr Attah who has well-established connections with the presidency would use that to his advantage to bid and win development projects for the district. 

The Member of Parliament for the area, Joycelyn Tetteh, promised to collaborate with the new DCE to ensure the young district develops at a fast pace. 

KPANDO MCE nominee rejected. 

Meanwhile, members of the Kpando Municipal Assembly have rejected the President's Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) nominee, Elvis Kweku Djampoh.

Out of 28 members, 15 voted in favor of Mr Djampoh representing 54 percent while 13 voted against him representing 46 percent. 

The Deputy Minister for Water and Sanitation and Member of Parliament for Krachi East, Michael Djato appealed to the assembly members to approve the nominee when he is again presented within a 10-day period so as not to delay development of the Municipality 

However, the outcome of the votes got some faithful of the New Patriotic Party in the municipality furious, but executives of the governing NPP promised to do their home works to ensure the nominee is confirmed by the assembly members. 

Hohoe MCE nominee rejected twice

Assembly members of the Hohoe Municipal Assembly also rejected the President's Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) nominee, Teddy Andrews Ofori. 

Mr Ofori, a retired educationist polled 24 votes in his favor and 20 against him occupying the MCE position in the first round of voting. He failed to obtain the 67 percent target receiving 28 out of 44 votes in the second round.

However, the agent observing the counting of ballots on behalf of Mr Ofori requested for a recount alleging he saw some ballot papers thumbprinted yes but counted as no ballot.
