A British woman is the world's oldest barmaid at the age of 97.Dolly Saville has been serving pints at The Red Lion Hotel in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, for 71 years.She started working there at the age of 26 and counts Pierce Brosnan, former Prime Minister Ted Heath, footballer Stanley Matthews and wartime singer Vera Lynn among her thirsty customers.
Throughout her career, Dolly has only been off sick for a total of two weeks and, until the age of 94, worked six hours a day, six days a week.
The pensioner — who has reduced her hours to three shifts a week — has pulled a staggering TWO MILLION pints.Dolly said: "I love my job and really like meeting new people and talking to them, it's far better than just sitting around."I work for three hours at a time and am constantly on my feet, but I don't mind."I'm very happy here and plan to continue working until they carry me out."
Dolly says she plans to keep on working until she's at least 100.
Hideko Arima, from Japan, was formerly the world's oldest bar maid.She worked at her tiny bar, Gilbey Ai in Tokyo's Ginza district for 52 years until she was 101. She died in 2003.
