The Ghana Registered Nurses’ Association (GRNA) has asked the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) to endeavour to migrate members unto the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) by the end of this month.
The group says “any attempt to manipulate and distort the grade levels as released by the FWSC will be resisted”.
The resolution was contained in a communiqué issued at an emergency National Council Meeting in Kumasi to brief members on developments on the migration of nurses and midwives unto the SSSS.
The statement signed by Kwaku Asante-Krobea, President of the Association, also asked the FWSC appellate body to meet with the GRNA on or before the 15th of November to resolve the concerns raised at a meeting in Dodowa.
The GRNA has however reiterated that “no group from our membership has embarked on any strike action and hereby disassociate the association from any such act whether in force or intended.
“From this position we call on striking rotation nurses to resume their clinical internship with immediate effect since all their grievances are being addressed”.
The release comes at the heels of a strike by doctors in most parts of the country, announced by the Ghana Medical Association in protest of stalled negotiation on the SSSS and lack of commitment to addresses their grievances.
