Ghana's FIFA U-17 World Cup got off to a triumphant start as Ibrahim Sadiq's first half strike earned a 1-0 win over Group A rivals Colombia.
The Right to Dream Academy winger put on a match-winning performance as he converted from close range to secure full spoils for Paa Kwesi Fabian's charges.
A fine counter-attack saw Black Starlets captain Eric Ayiah make an incisive run down the left flank before delivering a pinpoint low cross that Sadiq duly converted at the far post for 1-0 half-time lead.
The Colombians went in search of an equaliser after the break, with their best chance falling to substitute Deiber Caicedo. Yet, after breaking into the Ghana box from the right flank, his low effort went wide of the far post.

The Black Starlets are first by virtue of today's victory but that could change depending on the outcome of India's clash with the United States of America.
Ghana's second game is against the USA on Monday.
