An elated President John Agyekum Kufuor has told JOY News Ghana will certainly be generating some 400 Megawatts to add to the national grid from the Bui Dam project in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Elaborate preparations are underway in the town of Bui where Ghana’s second biggest hydro-electric power generation dam is set to be constructed.
President Kufuor will be in the town on Friday to commission the 620 million dollar project, largely funded by the Chinese Exim Bank.
The project will span the next five years and will include the construction of a Bui Dam City.
President Kufuor told JOY News that the dam after construction, will generate power to secure Ghana’s future energy requirements.
