The Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo constituency, Jonathan Nii Tackie Kommey has denied speculations that he plans going independent after losing his seat in the primaries to Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye.
Mr. Kommey said he respects the decision of delegates and will not contest as an independent candidate for the area.
Nii Tackie Kommey lost his bid to contest on the NDC’s ticket after he secured only 71 votes, against the 389 votes polled by his contender Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye.
Speaking to Adom News, he reaffirmed this commitment to the NDC even though he lost his seat adding that his love for the NDC will not end because of that.
He said the delegates voted for him on two occasions to represent them in parliament “but if they have changed their minds this time around we all have to respect it”.
He enumerated various projects he undertook for the constituency, stressing that his lost will not put an end to the better Ghana agenda projects, and promised to work hard towards the elections.
Nii Tackie Kommey declined to comment on whether he suspects the Castle was behind his defeat.
