Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the Okyehene, has enstooled the Regent of Kwabeng, Nana Adjei Twene as the Gyantuoahene of the Akyem Abuakwa state here in the eastern region.
The elevation of the 58-year-old chief, who is known in private life as Dickson Adjei Twene, the Chief Executive Officer of the MacDick Royal Plaza in Koforidua, was in recognition of his leadership finesse and development projects he initiated and executed at Kwabeng as regent for the last l7years.
The short but impressive ceremony, at the Okyehene's palace on Monday, attracted people from all walks of life including politicians, traditional ruler's family members and friends.
Nana Adjei Twene swore the oaths of office, secrecy and allegiance to the Okyehene and assured him and his sup-chiefs as well as the people of the traditional area of his readiness to foster peace and unity among the people so as to promote development, in the area.
He promised the people that he would bring his business skills to their doorsteps, especially youth in the area by creating business opportunities for them to help solve the area's unemployment problems.
On his part, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin advised the new Gyantoahene Nana Adjei Twene to show high level of respect to all and sundry within and outside the kingdom irrespective of the person's status.
He further advised him to be humble adding that not everybody in the area would like him but he needed to bring on board everybody if he wants to enjoy the new position bestowed on him.
He asked him to humble himself so as to command the respect of his people and that of others in the traditional area.
Taking the oath, Nana Adjei Twene assured the chief and people of the area of his readiness to adhere to all norms and values of the area in order to promote accelerated development.
He pledged that, he would never show any sign of disrespect or turn down the call of Okyehene whenever he is called upon unless sickness and certain circumstance beyond his control prevent him.
Nana Adjei Twerre however promised the people of the area that he would work hand in hand with the chief to bring unity to the Akyem Abuakwa state as well as bring to the fore of his business skills to the doorstep of the youth in the area which would lead to creating business opportunity to solving the unemployment state in the area.
