New Patriotic Party supporters and sympathizers across the Greater Accra Region have started trooping to James Town in Accra for what is expected to be a massive rally this afternoon at Mantse Agbonaa. The rally is scheduled to climax a nationwide tour by its flag-bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo and serve as the party’s first major political rally for this election season.NPP parliamentary aspirants for the various constituencies in the region would also be introduced at the rally.Former President John Agyekum Kufuor is expected to grace the occasion as the special guest of honour, while other national and regional executives as well as NPP Members of Parliament would attend the event. The rally would further address what the NPP says are economic hardships, propaganda, broken promises, drastic rise in cost of living, high taxes, high petroleum prices, and high utility tariffs.Other issues to be highlighted at the rally are what the party describes as falling standards of education, high profile corruption, payment of judgment debts, as well as education on the party’s theme for Election 2012: “Reflected, Rebuilt, and Recapture Power”.
