Former Black Stars striker Felix Aboagye has indicated that, players of the Black Stars team must stop the practice of taking breaks from the team any time they are been criticized.
Felix Aboagye made this comment on the back of a request by striker Asamoah Gyan to take a short break from national team duties to cool off from public criticism. The Al-Ain striker gained the displeasure of many Ghanaian fans when he missed a penalty against Zambia at the Nations Cup.
According to Felix Aboagye, public criticism is one thing that Black Stars players must learn to live with since it comes with the game just like when they are hailed for good performances.
“In football many things will happen to you and if you want to go forward you must accept whatever that comes your way”. He told JOY Sports
“When you quit the national team it will affect your career, we all need the national team while the national team also needs us”.
In a related development, an executive committee member of the Ghana Football Association George Afriyie has told JOY Sports Asamoah Gyan will return earlier than the speculated September date.
