Parliament is expected to conclude debate on the State of the Nation Address next week, which was earlier presented to the House by President John Atta Mills on February 16, 2012.
The majority leader, Mr. Cletus Avoka, announced this when he presented the business statement of the House for next week on Friday.
He explained that the conclusion of the debate had been shifted to next week Wednesday to allow more members to make their contributions.
As a result of the public holiday on Tuesday, March 6, the House is expected to begin sitting for the week on Wednesday, March 7, 2012.
This is to allow the MPs to participate in the 55th Independence Anniversary celebrations in their various constituencies.
On Wednesday, the Extradition Bill, 2012 will be presented to the House and go through its first reading stage while the Mental Bill, 2011 is expected to be passed.
The consideration stage of the Presidential (Transition) Bill, 2011 and the Veteran Administration, Ghana Bill, 2010 will also be continued the same day.
On Thursday, the annual report of the National Communications Authority (NCA) for the year 2009 will be laid before the House while the second reading of the University of Professional Studies, 2011 will also be done.
The Colleges of Education Bill, 2011, Intestate Succession Bill, 2009 and Public Health Bill, 2009 will also be done on Thursday.
The House is expected to pass the Presidential (Transition) Bill, 2010 and the Veterans Administration, Ghana Bill, 2010 by Friday.
