United Soccer League Phoenix Rising FC have announced the signing of midfielder Solomon Asante for the 2018 season.
Asante most recently spent time with Congolese-based TP Mazambe, where he formally played under current Phoenix Rising head coach Patrice Carteron.
Since Asante joined the TP Mazambe in 2013, he helped lead the club to three league titles in four seasons in addition to an African Super Cup title in 2016 and an African Champions League title in 2015. Asante has also played internationally, earning 17 caps with the Ghana National Team.
Asante will be reunited with former TP Mazambe teammate and midfielder Gladson Awako. Including Asante, Phoenix Rising now has 17 players signed on for the 2018 season.
Former Chelsea and Ivory Coast icon Didier Drogba is the co-owner of the club.
