Mr Michael Kobla Adzaho, District Chief Executive for Agotime-Ziope, has appealed to the Electoral Commission to consider extending the period of registration at centres which experienced technical challenges with the registration machines.
He noted that those hitches compelled many eligible voters to abandon the registration in frustration.
About four out of 13 registration centres experienced breakdowns of their machines one hour into the first day of the exercise in the Agortime-Ziope area.
Mr Adzaho described the hitches as unfortunate and expressed the hope that the EC would make up for the “wasted period.”
He, however, appealed to eligible voters who left in frustration to bear with the EC and return to register.
Mr Adjaho also appealed to eligible voters to be patient with the apparent slow processes they have to go through because care was needed to ensure that the outcome of the registration was thorough and credible.
Meanwhile, Mr Jonathan Okine, Agotime-Ziope District Electoral Officer, told the GNA that the broken down machines may have to be replaced.
