Police in Kumasi are pursuing some unidentified persons who attempted to vandalize materials at some registration centers in the Ashanti Region.
The alleged terror group which was said to be using an unregistered vehicle stormed some centers and tampered with the registration kit.
Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Samuel Tettey who confirmed the incident to Luv News, said the police are investigating.
Mr. Tettey said the EC is liaising with the security agencies to deploy personnel at some centers if it becomes necessary.
The Police is yet to comment on the incident.
Meanwhile the Electoral Commission says it is buoyed by a significant reduction in hiccups that characterized day one of ongoing biometric voter registration exercise.
Today marks day three of the biometric voter registration exercise which started over the weekend.
Unlike the numerous challenges that characterized the first day, day two saw a marked improvement.
The Electoral Commission says the significant reduction in the challenges recorded on the first day such as faulty equipment, gives them a lot of confidence.
Acting Director of Public Affairs, Christian Owusu Pare also discounted reports about political interference in the process.
He said in spite of media reports of political interference, the EC had not encountered any such interference.
