The executives of Mamprugu caucus of the Wa campus of the University for Development Studies comprising three constituencies of Mamprugu namely; Walewale, Nalerigu-Gambaga and Yagba Kubori constituencies and the entire membership for and on behalf of the Mamprugu kingdom have expressed their profound gratitude to the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its flagbearer, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo for the confidence reposed in the former deputy governor of the bank of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in retaining him as the party’s running mate.
In a statement released in Wa and signed by convener of the association, Issahaku Baako, Communications Director, Abdulai Wuni Issahaku and secretary, Sumnikurima Mohammed, they penciled the economic management credentials of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; his deep concerns for the development of the north and his youth mindedness all tie in well with the vision of Nana Akufo-Addo in the area of economic transformation, expanded opportunities for the youth of the country and bridging the development gap between the North and South.
"The former deputy governor represents an epitome of success for the youth of Northern Ghana and his appointment comes at a time that the hope of Ghanaians in the current political leadership is waning by the day," the statement said.
They pledged their unflinching support to the ticket by working relentlessly to change the fortunes of the party in the region to annex power from the National Democratic Congress.
