Ex Ghana International Nii Odartey Lamptey has advised Black Stars Coach Akwasi Appiah, he will need the country’s best players playing for him to succeed in his new role.
Odartey Lamptey is backing Akwasi Appiah to get the likes of Michael Essien, Asamoah Gyan and Kevin Prince Boateng to change their decisions of staying away from the team so he can build a stronger squad.
JOY Sports understands Akwasi Appiah is scheduled to be in Milan soon on the invitation of Sulley Muntari who is on loan at AC Milan and there are suggestions the 51 year old will make time and talk midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng out of an early retirement announced in November 2011.
It is rumoured Kevin had problems with the dismissed Goran Stevanovic and is opened to a return to the squad now a new man is in charge.
According to Odartey, Kwasi Appiah will need the country’s best players playing for him to succeed in his new role.
“Every coach want quality materials and I believe Akwasi Appiah will need good players to succeed”. He told JOY Sports
“It is always a plus to have Kevin in a team so Kwasi’s decision of going to talk to him is in the right direction”.
