Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan is delighted with the team effort that helped in securing his first career league title after his UAE side Al Ain to win the league trophy.
The former Asian champions won the title on Friday night in grand style after beating defending champions Al Jazira 2-0 to win the title with three matches left.
The Ghana superstar who is the league’s leading scorer is happy with the team effort that landed them the title.
“We are so happy. The team has worked so hard for past 10 months and I am happy to be part of the team,” Gyan said.
“We have a very good coach with an incredible CV. I’ve no doubt we won because we worked so hard. We deserved this.”
Gyan has been a key part of Al Ain’s 10th UAE title, netting 17 goals during the term to be the league’s leading goalscorer.
