Black Satellites management committee chairman George Afriyie attributes poor officiating to the Satellites 2-0 loss to South Africa in the 8-Nation International tournament tie on Sunday.
The defeat puts on hold, the Black Satellites' hopes of sealing a semi-final place as the qualifying now goes to the wire in Group A.
George Afriyie in an interview with JOY Sports noted his disappointment with the referee who he claims caused their defeat
“The boys played very well but unfortunately we were victims of bad officiating”.
“We even had to lodge a formal complaint to the organizers which they admitted the referee was poor and that they were going to take actions against him”.
“So far I must say this tournament has been a very good one for the boys, therefore for me it has been a useful exercise no matter what happens”
The Black Satellites with three points from their opening win against Nigeria will now have to play for a last four place in the final group clash against Argentina on Tuesday.
