A private citizen has petitioned the commission on human rights and administrative justice CHRAJ to investigate and publish how much salaries and emoluments are paid to all public office holders.
Edgar Eddah says this will ensure fairness and transparency.
He told Joy News’ Fiifi Koomson the sovereign people of Ghana should know the amount of money spent on their public servants.
“The conditions of service, salaries and other allowances of the political office holders should not be state secret,” he stated.
Meanwhile, CHRAJ has responded to the petition saying it does not have the mandate to do so.
