The New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin North constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has described the party as one that is not worth dying for.Mr. Agyapong accused the leadership of allowing certain individuals to take control of the NPP and thereby using it to promote their personal interests.The controversial NPP MP recalled how the NPP issued a statement to dissociate itself from a statement he is alleged to have made on radio, calling on Akans to attack people of other tribal origins during the biometric registration exercise.He was invited by the BNI and the case is pending in court.Mr. Agyapong who granted his first radio interview on the case on Adom Fm’s Dwaso Nsem on Friday, was reacting to a statement by Central Regional Minister Ama Benyiwa-Doe who blamed Thursday’s ethnic clashes in Ekumfi on the “tribal comment” purportedly made by him.Mrs. Benyiwa Doe said on Adom News on Thursday that Fantes are practicing the words of Kennedy Agyapong.The MP has denied inciting ethnic violence as he has been accused of, and has blamed Gabby Asare Ochere-Darko and Mrs. Oboshie Sai-Coffie, both leading members of the NPP for issuing the statement in the name of the party.He said the two drafted the statement to dissociate the party from the supposed tribal comments he is alleged to have made, and issued the release in the name of the party.
